Artist statement

Tribute to Greek Architecture is a wood sculpture inspired by the visual language of classical Greek architecture. The tall turned form recalls the elegance of a column, while the heavy block above suggests the weight and presence of architectural stone. The contrast between the smooth turned body, the geometric structure, the small sphere, and the natural bark-edge wood creates a dialogue between refinement and raw material. The work reflects ideas central to Greek architecture, including balance, proportion, harmony, and the relationship between support and weight. At the same time, the use of wood gives the piece a contemporary and organic quality, transforming architectural memory into a sculptural object built from craftsmanship, rhythm, and form.
