I Can’t Stand Still

Artist statement

This work began as a discarded rocking chair found on the street. I transformed it into a tense, uncomfortable object by driving dozens of nails through the seat and painting the entire piece a vivid, aggressive red. The title “I Can’t Stand Still” reflects my own restless creative drive, a constant need to keep working on new projects and ideas. The chair, which normally invites rest and stillness, has been rendered unusable, symbolizing the inner compulsion to create rather than remain idle.
